Although the star didn’t specify why, many assumed she was talking about the LGBTQI+ community
Spice Girls singer Melanie Chisholm, also known as Mel C, has announced on social media that she is canceling her New Year’s Eve performance in Poland after being made aware of “some issues” involving groups of people she supports, according to the Dailymail.
“In light of a number of issues that have come to my attention, which do not align with the communities I support, I fear that I will not be able to perform in Poland as planned on New Year’s Eve,” she said in a statement.
Although the star did not specify what the specific topic was, many assumed that she was talking about the LGBTQI+ community, for which she has even been honored with the Celebrity Ally award at the British LGBT Awards.
According to Deadline, the singer would appear on a show on the Polish public television (TVP) which has allegedly been accused in recent years against this particular community.
