Gkay deactivates Twitter account after users rescue controversial posts

by

Gkay’s Twitter account was deactivated after users on the social network rescued old tweets from her. The profile has been off the air since early this Wednesday (28). The influencer had more than 4.7 million followers on the social network.

In one of the publications, Gkay criticized the quota law for public universities. “Another perk for those Brazilians who love the good and lazy life so much, this quota system. A joke indeed!”, says the tweet.

Netizens also pointed out fatphobia in a publication made in 2011. “I don’t even want to be mean, but here comes the cute fat and square wearing a tight dress and stripes weakening my vows of goodness”, the influencer would have written.

Another post, also from 2011, rescued by Twitter users read: “Where are the Nazi concentration camps when I need them most?”.

The confusion involving Gkay and Fabio Porchat is one of the most commented subjects on the internet since Sunday (25). It all started with a joke made by Porchat at the Best of the Year 2022 award, on Sunday with Huck.

Porchat said that presenter JĂ´ Soares preferred to die when interviewing Gkay. “That’s why he preferred to leave us. I look at JĂ´ and I keep thinking: ‘What would he do with a Gkay in front of him, Tata?'”.

Gkay took to Twitter to say she was tired of being made fun of. “I don’t know what I did for people to hate me so much, humiliate me so much, day after day and now even on national television, showing that I am a joke in the bad sense for the whole of Brazil”, she published.

Porchat then recorded a video in which he defended himself against criticism. “Gkay did a very strange interview with Tatá Werneck, it was very bad and became a laughing stock. They made a film that was a failure with the public and critics”, she said.

This Tuesday (27), Gkay had an indisposition and even went to the hospital. Her team, however, said she was released the same day and is doing well.

O F5 contacted Gkay’s advisory to comment on the episode involving the old publications, but did not receive a response until the publication of this report.
