The National Theater and the Art Theatre, in its context “Years of Iakovos Campanellis” proclaimed by the Ministry of Culture and Sports to mark the 100th anniversary of his birth, are organizing on Monday, January 9, at the Main Stage of the Ziller building, a commemorative night for our great playwright.
Iakovos Kampanellis, in a tireless and extremely fruitful course of more than sixty years that determined the course of modern Greek drama, developed a particularly important relationship with the two bodies as the Art Theater was the space that highlighted him, his theatrical home, but at the same time, his relationship with the National Theater was decisive and developed on many levels.
In this honorable evening, people from the theater who either worked personally with Iakovos Campanellis, or whose works played an important role in their artistic career, will share their memories and experiences on the occasion of performances of his works staged at the National Theater and the Art and in which they participated.
An introductory speech will be given by the author’s daughter, Katerina Campanelli. Marina Aslanoglou, Dimitris Degaitis, Andri Theodotou, Kostis Kapelonis, Maria Kehagioglou, Maria Kostantarou, Panagiotis Mentis, Pantelis Papadopoulos, Giannos Perlegkas and Babis Hatzidakis are taking part in the discussion, while the coordination has been undertaken by the artistic director of the Art Theater Marianna Kalbari.
Also, the actors and performers of the show “Stella with the red gloves” by Iakovos Campanellis, presented this year in a co-production of the Art Theater and the National Theater directed by Yannos Perlegkas, will also speak at the event.
Start time: 20.30. Free entry with tickets that will be available from 20.00 on the day of the event from the box offices of the Ziller building.
