Bela Gil, 35, used social media on Saturday (8) to say that she turned down a position in Lula’s government. The chef and presenter said she was invited to head the Special Secretariat for Healthy Food, linked to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Agriculture.
“I received with great honor the invitation from Minister Paulo Teixeira to take over the Special Secretariat for Healthy Food at the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Family Agriculture, a struggle I have fought for years, and which will finally receive special attention from the government of our President Lula”, he wrote.
“Unfortunately, due to incompatibility between professional and personal agendas, I informed Minister Teixeira that it would not be possible to take office at this time”, he lamented. “However, I continue to collaborate voluntarily as a consultant in this beginning of government.”
Daughter of former Minister of Culture Gilberto Gil, Bela is dedicated to publicizing themes related to this universe on her personal channels. “My commitment to the struggle for dignified, healthy and present food, a constitutional right, for the entire population continues and is strengthened by this dialogue,” she said. She ended the subject by thanking her for the invitation. “Thank you so much for the trust”.
Ahead of Bela Cozinha, on the paid channel GNT, she has supported President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) since the beginning of the campaign, last year. The chef was also part of the technical nucleus for Social Development and Fight against Hunger during the government transition period.
