The revelation that Leonardo DiCaprio initially did not want to star in ‘Titanic’ – the biggest box office hit of all time for 12 years until Avatar was released – because he found the film boring was made by director James Cameron ).

In an interview with the US magazine People, Cameron said that “Leo” was reluctant to accept the role of Jack and that he had to convince him to become the lead.

“He didn’t want to star. I actually had to hold his hand to get him to act in the movie. He didn’t want to do it. He thought it was boring,” the director said.

In the end, according to Cameron, DiCaprio only accepted the role after he convinced him that “it was actually a difficult challenge.”
