Megan Jenkins at the Oven Theater

by

“Did you hear that?”
“Do not pay attention. It will probably be the mice – please continue “.

One autumn afternoon, in an old small theater, the troupe meets for a rehearsal. Their task: to bring to the stage the creepy story of Indy, a young woman who slowly surrenders to her psychosis. Some strange events will make their job even more difficult as the heroes gradually sink into an unprecedented condition.

Megan Jenkins’ debut play, directed by Dino Psychogiou, balances the boundaries between reality and fantasy with the theatrical stage as an axis, an alloy space in which truth is mixed with lies. Reminiscent of her mother’s postpartum depression and captivated by the “haunted” Victorian theaters in the United Kingdom, Jenkins simply recounts the concerns and fears hidden in the incarnation of unusual roles and the representation of the soul. A dark and sometimes humorous look at the process of rehearsing and testing human relationships.
