‘Thank God I’m not a mess’, said Glória Maria when commenting on her age

At the beginning of March 2021, someone had the idea and posted it on the networks: if the date of the first dose against Covid-19 is defined by age group, here is the chance to reveal one of the best kept secrets on Brazilian TV -age by Gloria Maria. It was a frenzy. In the web pool, the bets hung for the 21st and 22nd of March, the scheduled date for the immunization of the group aged 71 years.

Glória found the story funny, even more so when she learned that fans and paparazzi were preparing to stay in wait at the health centers near her home. Just for the sake of it, she offered R$500 to anyone who managed to photograph her being vaccinated. Deep down, deep down, she revealed feeling a certain pride for being so curious. “It just helps prove that, thank God, I’m not a mess,” she told this reporter at the time.

The journalist, who died this Thursday (2), a victim of cancer, also told, laughing and in that unmistakable voice, that she always found the popular obsession with the year of her birth “a crazy thing”. “I show my document on all the trips I take, I don’t hide it from anyone. But I don’t see why I tell anyone either,” she said, in yet another skillful detour from the heart of the matter.

When she took the second dose, Glória posted a photo on her networks in which she celebrated the boost in immunization, and also the cheer she gave to all those who tried to catch her on the day of the first dose. “Well, I waited to post to see if someone had managed to photograph me vaccinating! I even offered a prize, remember?! [Risos] Since no one got the award, it’s mine!”
