Meghan Markle is in court after being sued by her half-sister

Both Meghan and Harry are likely to have to attend US courts to give evidence.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to “fight it out” in courtrooms with Markle’s half-sister Samantha after the latter sued her for defamation.

In fact, as reported by the BBC, both Meghan and Harry are likely to have to attend the American courts in order to testify.

Meghan’s motion to stop depositions in the case was denied Tuesday by Florida District Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell.

Samantha sued her for “defamation and injurious lies” after the couple’s interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

She claims in particular that she was defamed when her half-sister “falsely and maliciously” said she was an “only child”.

It added that Meghan had “used the powerful resources of the royal family’s public relations business” to spread lies around the world about her and their father Thomas and spoke of a “premeditated campaign to destroy reputation and credibility” their”.
