Journalist Gabriela Prioli used social networks to vent about the attacks she has been receiving since she announced that she would return to work before the end of her maternity leave. She accepted the invitation to host the show Saia Justa, on GNT, which premieres a new season on March 8, two and a half months after the birth of her daughter Ava.
In stories, Prioli revealed that she was a little upset with the criticism for being accused of not taking advantage of spending a few months with the child to monitor her development. By law, a woman is entitled to maternity leave of 120 days, without prejudice to employment and salary. According to her, regardless of her choice, she would be judged the same way because she never managed to please everyone.
“They would judge me if I had come back and if I hadn’t gone back to work. It’s always been that way and never, no matter what my decision is, I’m going to please everybody.”
Lawyer and author of two best-selling books, such as “Politics is for everyone”, Gabriela also assumed that it was not an easy decision to return to work. “I don’t do it without doubts, without pain. But I do it. That’s what matters. Growing up is like that. We’re fine, Ava and I. Because she’s only fine if I’m fine. I move away from the logic of sacrifice to live a logic of shared happiness”.
