Péricles, 53, was not shaken by the assault suffered by him and his family, on Friday (17), in Santo André, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo. One day after the incident, he enthralled the audience during the first night of Carnival in the capital of São Paulo, early this Saturday (18).
“I want to thank everyone who sent me affection and positive messages. I’m going to put a stone on the subject, and life goes on”, he said, in an interview with journalists before performing at Camarote Brahma, at the Anhembi Sambódromo.
After three years of the pandemic, he attributes the strength to carry on with the work, even after the robbery, to his family and, in particular, to his wife, Lidiane Faria.
“Carnival moves us. People expect our best, and I’m here for that. My wife encourages me a lot”, he says. And he adds, laughing: “One of my goals this year is to lose another ten kilos, she’s the boss”.
Péricles says that the fact of being able to celebrate the revelry this year is “another reason to move forward and celebrate the small victories”. For him, the secret to career longevity is “respect for people.”
Even with a full schedule, the musician says he has been following the BBB 23 and keeps an eye on his favorite participant: the singer Marvvila. The two recorded the song “Nosso Amor Quer Paz” together last year.
