We have repeatedly read researches and studies that try to decode the secrets and recipes of success of various countries.

First in the list of the happiest countries are usually Denmark or Switzerland or Sweden.

But this year’s ranking hides a pleasant surprise concerning… our country.

According to the polling company Gallup World Poll and the annual World Happiness Report, Greece is now ranked 58th for the year 2022, while in 2015 it was in 102nd and in 2019 in 82nd place in the world ranking.

It seems, therefore, that despite the various challenges at the national and international level, Greeks feel happier than ever.

Hence the rise of 44 places compared to the not-so-distant 2015!

This report measures how the citizens themselves evaluate their lives, in 150 countries of the world.

This year’s exhibition is a point of light and hope in the dark times that the planet is experiencing, which is suffering from multiple crises at the same time.

It seems that, despite experiencing a terrifying pandemic, humanity managed to focus on the positive side of the situation, experiencing a strong index of social protection and support but also a moving wave of solidarity.

Among others, the parameters that determined the responses of the participants include criteria such as life expectancy, the social protection and support network, the freedom of citizens to make independent personal decisions, the levels of corruption in their country, trust in institutions, but also more generalized indicators such as generosity.

In any case, it seems that the Greeks are turning the page and writing a new chapter after the ten-year crisis that plagued the country. They already feel greater freedom, independence of choices, as well as greater trust in institutions – a fact confirmed by a series of surveys.
