Almost a year after revealing in an open letter that she became pregnant after a rape and gave the baby up for adoption, actress Klara Castanho, 22, spoke for the first time about the violence she suffered. It was on the recording of the program Altas Horas (Globo), presented by Serginho Groisman, which airs this Saturday (4).
“After I went public, again in a forced way, I denounced all the crimes to which I was subjected. All, without any exception. And what remains for me at this moment is to trust in Justice and I trust a lot. Not only in Justice, but in greater justice,” she said, according to the newspaper O Globo.
In June 2022, Klara revealed through social media that she had been raped, made pregnant and donated the baby after birth. In the text, Klara reported that she was not in her city or close to friends and family. Initially, she would not have realized that the rape resulted in an unwanted pregnancy.
In another part, she talked about the process of maintaining the pregnancy and carrying out the legal adoption of the baby, as provided by law. “The delivery [do bebê] was protected and confidential. Being a father and/or mother does not depend solely on the economic and financial condition, but on the ability to care. By recognizing my inability to exercise this care, I opted for this conscious delivery that should be safe”, he wrote at the time.
Also on her networks, the actress said that what motivated the disclosure of the letter at that time was the repercussion of “people conspiring and creating versions about repulsive violence and trauma”. The violence committed against her and the consequences of the case were reported in detail by the press at the time.
