Since retiring from the National Football League in 2020, Mr Vernon Davis is charting his own path as an actor and has some ideas for future roles as well

Speaking recently to US magazine People about his new film ‘The Ritual Killer’, co-starring Morgan Freeman, he said he ‘would love to be a superhero’.

Ideally, Davis says he’d like to “build a character” to star in an original film, separate from the superhero franchises typically presented by the larger Marvel or DC film studios.

“God, man, I couldn’t fly, but I could… I’d be super athletic,” he adds, when asked what superpowers his character might have. “I would be able to jump, I could pick up and throw anything and I could punch really fast.”

Additionally, Davies suggests that his character should “be able to move the wind and take the air to the highest level.”

In “The Ritual Killer,” Davis’ character has no superpowers. Instead, he plays a serial killer who carries out a series of ritual murders called “muti” and goes up against a detective played by Cole Hauser and an anthropology professor played by Freeman as they try to catch him.
