In an interview with Lifo, on the occasion of his new performance “Crime and Punishment” which is about to be staged at the Onassis Foundation, Vassilis Bispikis – when asked how readability affects him – answered:

“No, it (recognizability) creates a problem for me. I danced a zeibeki and it became an issue. I always used to go to bouzoukis and dance, but now it’s crazy. They spoil you and you hear the most puritan commentsabout my fatness or I don’t know what.

On the other hand, I cannot not live, because art is not above life. So I will continue and I don’t care, may my debauchery be endless through the years. As long as my child’s happiness is not affected”, emphasized Vassilis Bispikis.

Elsewhere in the interview, the actor said: “I was a finger-pointer from a young age, I was a punk, no family wanted their child to hang out with me, I’ve always been like that, and I still am – but then there was anxiety and reaction.

Now it’s the same because I’m dancing or I don’t know what else, but there’s no anxiety to prove something or react. I don’t care at all.”
