Actor Ryan Reynolds announced, in a publication on social networks, that one of his businesses has prospered in the financial market. In a statement this Wednesday (15), T-Mobile announced the purchase of Mint Mobile, a company that has Reynolds as an investor, in the amount of US$ 1.35 billion (about R$ 6.8 billion). The amount was revealed by Variety, which also reported that the actor’s participation in the business could reach 25%.
“Mint Mobile is the ultimate wireless business and today’s news only increases our ability to deliver for our customers,” Reynolds said in a statement released by T-Mobile. The actor also joked about the transaction: “We are so happy that T-Mobile beat an aggressive last minute offer from my mother, Tammy Reynolds, as we believe the excellence of their 5G network will provide a better strategic fit than the skills of mahjong [jogo virtual] slightly above her average”.
According to People, which had access to the statement, T-Mobile is the second largest cell phone company in the United States and the deal was formalized from a combination of 39% in cash and 61% in shares.
The agreement further indicates that Reynolds will continue with his creative role on behalf of the company.
