Priyanka Chopra-Jonas revealed for the first time why he left the Bollywood industry in India and started a new career in the US.

Speaking on the ‘Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard’ podcast, Chopra-Jonas, who had a long career in Bollywood before moving to the US, said: ‘I was being pushed into a corner of the industry. There were people who wouldn’t listen to me… I was tired of politics. It was like they were telling me, ‘You need a break.'”

The break came in the form of a music career in the US. In 2011, Universal Music Group signed Chopra-Jonas to a music production deal with DesiHits label, and part of the deal was that her first studio album would be released by Interscope Records in North America and Island Records in the rest of the world .

“Turning to music gave me the opportunity to go to another part of the world, not to worry about the films I wanted to make, but I needed to meet new groups of people and take a different leap and I had worked for a long time by then , and I felt like I didn’t want to do it,” he said.

However, it didn’t take long for the proposals for acting to come. Her first starring role in the US was in ABC’s ‘Quantico’. “I read the pilots. I knew what the pace of the series was. And I worked with an acting teacher. And when I got the job, I realized that this is all I need,” said Brianka.
