Singer Vitão, 23, renewed his look. One morning, he decided to shave his hair, go to Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, and throw the locks into the sea. According to him, everything is part of a rebirth.
“I have a family [em Santos] where I spent many vacations. I chose a beach where I made a lot of New Year wishes when I was a kid. The request was not necessarily for Iemanjá, it was like an offering and sacrifice to mother nature, for everything my hair has done for me and also the desire to leave a lot behind”, she told GQ Magazine.
For now, he says he doesn’t miss the hairy look. “I’m feeling wonderful, delicious. I’m being born again. I feel that, at certain stages of my life, I’ve been dead inside. Now, I’m in that moment of rebirth with my new album”, he says, referring to to the album “Toda Manhã”, which will be released next Friday (14th) and which mixes pop with rock, pagodão baiano and baião.
Another reason that made Vitão think about ending his trademark was “getting out of the sameness”. “Lately, I was feeling the same and there was this weight: ‘You can’t [raspar] because it’s your brand and what makes people recognize you’. Then I understood that it wasn’t. My brand is my music.”
