Singer Sinead O’Connor spoke again about her son, Shane O’Connor, 17, found dead last Friday (7) in Wicklow, Ireland. She took to her Twitter account on Saturday to demand that the Irish government take responsibility for the tragedy.
“I have just formally identified the remains of my son Shane. May God forgive the Irish State for I never will,” he tweeted.
She says that the Irish protection and assistance agency Tusla for children, adolescents and families is trying to defuse the situation. “I’m going to take time to grieve for my son. When I’m ready, I’m going to speak just like the Irish State through Tusla’s ignorant, cruel, selfish and lying forms and the HSE [hospital] allowed and facilitated his death.”
The singer claims that, a month ago, her son had been taken to CAMHS [Serviços de Saúde Mental para Crianças e Adolescentes da Irlanda] after disappearing leaving a suicide note, giving details about his funeral. She says that he was dismissed on the grounds that the plans were not real. “When objections were raised, they reported that ‘planning a funeral is no different from planning a wedding’.”
“I have been married several times and I can tell CAMHS that planning my son’s funeral is nothing like planning his wedding. Which, now, will never happen again. Because you are unfit for your purpose. .”
“My beautiful son Nevi’im Nesta Ali Shane O’Connor, light of my life, decided to end his earthly struggle and is now with God. May he rest in peace and no one follows his example. My baby, I love you so much. please stay in peace,” wrote the singer, announcing her son’s death.
According to the Daily Mail, the young man had been missing since the beginning of the week and was last seen on Friday (7). On Thursday (6), on Twitter, Sinead O’Connor made an outburst on the social network against the hospital where her son was hospitalized after two suicide attempts, and signaled that she would sue the unit for Shane’s disappearance.
