Split reportedly due to ‘irreconcilable differences’

The split is reportedly due to “irreconcilable differences,” with Baumgartner seeking joint custody of their children, according to a report in the Daily Mail. The famous actor filed the divorce papers on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, also asking for joint custody of their children.

The 68-year-old actor and 49-year-old Baumgartner, a model and fashion designer, began dating in 2000 and tied the knot at Kevin Costner’s ranch in Aspen, Colorado in 2004.
“It is with great regret that we learn that some events beyond his control have occurred which have resulted in Mr. Kevin Costner making the decision to separate,” a statement from the actor’s representative read.
“We ask that the privacy of him, Christine and their children be respected as they go through this difficult time,” the statement concluded.
Costner was previously married to Cindy Silva from 1978 to 1994 and they have three children. He also has a son, Liam Costner, with Bridget Rooney, whom he dated after his split from Silva.
The news of the divorce comes just weeks after it was revealed that the actor is in a rift with “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan.
