With a multi-thematic walk in her garden and guided by the scientists who created it, the National Gallery participates in the celebration of the International Day of Museums, on May 18.

During the walk, entitled “Multiple narratives of the garden of the National Gallery. Architecture, Agriculture, Outdoor Sculpture” there will be two guided tours, at 11.00 and 13.00. Architects, engineers, landscape architects, agronomists, conservators of sculpture works, art historians, will discuss with the public the multiple issues of space, landscape and climate they were asked to face, but also about the solutions they jointly designed and implemented.

In selected parts of it garden of the National Gallery, eight sculptures have been installed. “The result, in constant conjunction with highlighting both the architecture of the building and the outdoor sculptures as well as the Greek flora and fauna, is a landscape depicted as a living herbal hemp of the textures and colors of approximately 100 different plant species. At the center of the design is also the memory of the river Ilisos, as well as the vital connection with plant species depicted in paintings of the museum’s permanent exhibition” is the rationale of the design that the guides will analyze during the 1 hour and 30′ walk .
