Twenty years later, the Jamie Lee Curtis and the Lindsay Lohan are in talks to star in the film’s sequel “Freaky Friday”.

Based on Mary Rogers’ 1972 novel of the same name, it was the third time it was brought to the screen after the 1976 film starring Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster and the 1995 film starring Shelley Long and Gabby Hoffman.

The Curtis-Lohan duo was the biggest hit, grossing over $160 million at the box office on a budget of just $26 million.

As “Variety” reports in the new Disney film, the two protagonists will embody the well-known roles of mother and daughter, Anna and Tess Coleman, in a script written by Elise Hodre.

Rumors began circulating in February when Curtis posted a photo of herself and Lohan from the set of the 2003 film on Instagram, and a few days later at the Producers Guild Awards, the actress said in an interview with Variety: “Without saying anything is officially happening, I’m looking at you right now and saying, ‘Of course it’s going to happen.’ It will happen!”.
