Investigations into the plane crash that killed singer Marília Mendonça in November 2021 have been completed and the FAB (Brazilian Air Force) will present, next Monday (15), the result in a private meeting with the singer’s family. .
The body responsible for the investigation is the FAB’s Cenipa (Center for Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents). In a note sent to F5the entity claims that it will first show the results to the singer’s family members and legal representatives, and then make the final report available on the website “to promote broad access and transparency of the information investigated”.
The accident occurred in the city of Piedade de Caratinga, in Minas Gerais, and killed four other people — Abicieli Silveira Dias Filho, the singer’s advisor and uncle, Henrique Ribeiro, her producer, pilot Geraldo Medeiros and co-pilot Tarciso Pessoa Viana.
In 2022, a year after the incident, the Civil Police of Minas Gerais ruled out a sudden illness in the pilot or the use of psychotropic substances, but disclosed that the commander distanced himself from the pattern that is common in landings at the airport in the region. In this way, the aircraft left the protection zone, where all obstacles are signaled.
