Almost a year after the end credits of the TV series dropped “This Is Us” the Chrissy Metz shares what it’s been like to transition from the role that launched her career.

Metz, who played Kate Pearson in the hit series, takes on a darker character in the new film “Stay Awake” as she adjusts to taking on new roles and transitioning into a new chapter in her life.

““I miss ‘This Is Us’ so bad,” the actress and singer told the American magazine People. “And not only did it change my life, but the way it touched people’s lives and hearts and minds was really, really special.».

Metz is now looking to improve her skills as a film actress after the show ends.

“It’s hard when you’ve been doing something for six years because you really know the character, and even though you’re still finding out more about him, you’ve come to understand him,” he told the magazine, adding: “Whereas with a film, you’ve got maybe a month if you’re lucky from the preparation until the end».

With this new freedom to explore other roles, Metz is in the midst of a phase of her career that is both challenging and exciting.
