The mother of actor Jefferson Machado, 44, found dead on Monday (22) after missing for four months, is in Rio de Janeiro to follow up on investigations into her son’s murder. He was found tied up, in a fetal position, inside a concrete trunk two meters deep, in the Campo Grande neighborhood, west of the city. It took the participation of nine men, some equipped with jackhammers, pickaxes and shovels, to remove the actor’s body.
Maria das Dores Machado arrived from Santa Catarina this Wednesday (24th), after the Rio de Janeiro Police confirmed Jefferson’s identity through fingerprints. In an interview with the newspaper O Globo, she said that the suspicions that something was wrong started when her son stopped sending audios through WhatsApp. Communication between the two continued, but by text — and they didn’t appear to be written by Jefferson.
Maria das Dores asked her son to send her an audio message, but they never arrived. Another point that brought distrust: the artist’s eight dogs, always very well treated, wandered abandoned through different neighborhoods of the city. “He had eight beautiful dogs, which he cared for with great love. One of them died and they realized he wasn’t in São Paulo. It was a lot of lies, a lot of dishonesty for a good person, a hardworking man, a man of light”, he said. .
