Yesterday, Sunday, May 28, Iron Maiden started their self-titled tour “The Future Past”in Slovenia with a big concert-festival, which reserved an unexpected surprise for the fans of the legendary band.

Iron Maiden played live for the first time “Alexander the Great”37 years after the release of the beloved record “Somewhere in Time”, which was released in 1986.

In a concert, which of course emphasized their latest album “Senjutsu”Iron Maiden performed several tracks from the now classic “Somewhere in Time”.

In fact, the veteran musicians opened their concert, with “Caught Somewhere in Time”, also a track they are playing for the first time in three decades. In the setlist of the concert we also saw the “Stranger In A Strange Land”who have been playing since 1999, but also the “Heaven Can Wait” which we last heard live in 2008.

The biggest surprise of the night, however, was definitely the piece, which was inspired by Alexander the Greatwhich is very much loved by fans, even though they have never heard it – until today – live.
