With musical groups from the Greek and foreign scene, favorite artists, children’s shows and standup comedy, the summer evenings in Thessaloniki will be filled, as the Lazarist Monastery Festival returns to bring its aura to the west of the city.

Rich program for all tastes and all ages

The atmospheric welcome of the public will take place tomorrow with a tribute to Pink Floyd with The Great Gig, the band from Thessaloniki that was supported by the Lazarist Monastery Festival in its early stages and performed at it in 2007.

The opening is dedicated to Lazaros Konstantinidis who – as pointed out, was a “rock guy” and in his memory tomorrow’s concert will have free entry for the public.

“In Greek scene we will have a journey from the Pontus to Crete with the orchestrations of Stavros Xarhakos, Tania Tsanaklidou with Fotis Siotas, Phoivos Delivorias, Kaiti Garbi, Iota Nega, Thanasis Alevras with the musical performance “40 + Vgaino”, the dear to the young Hatzifragetas and the up-and-coming Skiadareses, Yiannis Kotsiras and Elena Paparizou”, assessed his close associate and long-time executive of the organization Eleni Giannelou, presenting part of this year’s program.

A show Stand Up Comedy and a children’s show complete the program of the Greek stage.

“In foreign scene we will have the special rock band Swans, Pink Martini and James who return after several years in Thessaloniki. We continue the section “Hip Hop Streets”, a project with names that will attract the young audience to the Lazarist Monastery”, he added.

In the meantime, the program for the second part of the Festival, for the months, is being prepared August and September, which – although it has not been announced yet, it is certain that it will also include big names, such as Evanthia Reboutsika, Glykeria with Melina Aslanidou, Nikos Portokaloglou with Rena Morphis, Ble with Eurydiki, etc. Ticket prices will range from 10 to 50 euros.
