Gave $ 2.8 million to buy a house from the movie “Nightmare on the Poplar Street”

by

A Los Angeles home made famous by the classic horror film “A Nightmare on Elm Street” sold for $ 2.8 million, three months after the announcement of its sale.

It is “a beautiful Dutch colonial house with a modern touch” according to the listing on Realtor.com. The residence is located just off Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, a few blocks east of the legendary Chateau Marmont Hotel.

The announcement of the sale of the house of the film’s protagonist, Nancy Thompson, was published last October, a week before Halloween. The original sale price was $ 3.5 million.

Director Wes Craven directed “Nightmare on the Poplar Road” in the small (and non-existent) spring town of Springwood, Ohio, and shot the outdoor shots in Hollywood, in the Spaulding Square area.

The Los Angeles Times reports that the picturesque atmosphere of the area and the fact that there are no palm trees have long made it a favorite for directors who make movies and TV shows that take place in a small US town.

“The iconic house is not just a place of terror. It’s also the location where the “Bo Burnham: Inside” tribute was shot.
