In a statement on Instagram, Jeremy Scott announced that after a decade he is leaving the Italian fashion house Moschino. He then worked with Hyundai to recycle discarded materials from the South Korean automaker’s electric vehicles, from cut leather to flat tires, transforming them into high-fashion creations.

I have never created dresses from car materials. So it was a completely new and unique challenge. I was thrilled when Hyundai asked me to do this Re:Style project. I was very excited and inspired by all the R&D and work Hyundai is doing to create fabrics from recycled car partsScott said.

This year marks the fourth year for Hyundai’s ‘Re:Style’ recycling platform where internationally renowned designers transform car waste into fashion creations. The ‘Hyundai Re:Style Exhibition’ ran for three weeks at AP Again in Seoul’s Seongsu-dong district and coincided with the world market launch of the new electric KONA.
