More specifically, the 12-year-old’s lawyer, Mrs Aspasia Tarahopoulouwhich reported, among other things, about the meeting of mother and daughter: “The little girl last saw her mother on February 3rd. The 12-year-old, therefore, met on Monday, June 19, 2023 with her mother, after her testimony. The child was desperately asking to see his mother, crying and saying he was never going to say anything about the case again. She had gone so far as to say that she didn’t even care if they were all set free. After many attempts – which I don’t want to go into details – we managed to get the child to see his mother in prison. It was a very emotional moment“, revealed Mrs. Aspasia Tarahopoulou.

The lawyer stated that the social worker of the prison participated in the meeting, as well as the child psychologist of the little girl. “The child was crying a lot. They didn’t leave him with his mother long enough, about 10 to 15 minutes. He didn’t want to leave. He had been desperately asking for her all this time».

To the presenter’s question, why the authorities did not allow the child to stay longer with the mother, the lawyer said that “we made countless efforts to make this meeting happen. The authorities could answer the rest. We have filed a child psychiatric opinion, which says that the child should see his mother and that it is good for his psycho-emotional development. Our request was not accepted and the visit was prohibited. We gave a lot to make this meeting happen».

When asked when the child will be allowed to meet the mother again, the lawyer stated: “The authorities have not told us. I think it will be difficult, but we will try. The little girl gave her mother letters with hearts. He badly needed to see her. He wrote her a letter that he loves her, that he is thinking of her, and that he believes that she will be released soon, because he knows that she has not done anything. Right now we have a child abused, from all sides, being punished in this way, that is, not seeing his mother».

Finally, according to the lawyer, the 12-year-old girl has not recovered after everything she has been through and the situation is becoming more difficult as she is constantly giving statements, doing facial recognition, the psychological support she receives is rudimentary (once a week) and she does not see his mother. “Her nightmare continues…“, said Mrs. Aspasia Tarahopoulou.
