“Here we are, what can I tell you? You have done so much to me… kill me, what can I tell you!” were the 52-year-old’s last words moments before the 80-year-old shot him twice in the back at close range, taking his life because some goats owned by the victim, stepped on his field.

Cold-blooded murder that has shocked the Holy Trinity of the municipality of Ancient Olympia happened at noon on Tuesday, when the unfortunate 52-year-old, father of four children, aged between 12 and 18, received a phone call from the 80-year-old. The victim went to the scene to verify if his animals had caused damage to the perpetrator’s property.

Holding a carbine, the perpetrator went to the field and argued with the victim who behaved in a mild tone and told him “what should I do now, I’m not to blame for what happened” and after he tried together with his brother to collect his animals, tried to leave.

At that moment, when the perpetrator picked her up carbine and after the victim had turned his back to leave, he shot him twice in the back from a distance of almost three meters.

The moments that followed were tragic… Shocked, the victim’s brother, who had gone to the field earlier than everyone else and saw his younger brother fall dead in front of his eyes, despite the initial shock, tried to disarm the assailant.

He, however, turned the carbine towards him and tried to shoot him but fortunately he only had cartridges…

“He killed my brother for nothing and went to shoot me too”

Tragic figure and eyewitness of the cold-blooded murder of Panagiotis Menounos, his brother, Andreas who, as he reveals with a trembling voice in the episode “Patris”, the perpetrator tried to shoot him too, but he had no more bullets in the carbine.

“My brother had an argument with K. and he took out his rifle and the other killed him for nothing. The issue is not about the goats, there are other precedents and in the past he slandered my brother. He had always had the carbine with him for the past three years. He always carried a gun and kept shooting and had said he was a “public danger”, but no one cared. My blessed brother came and he didn’t expect it. The rifle came out, she told him you have done so much and so much. Then she tells him “you’re done!” Then he turned to me, but he didn’t have any more cartridges, he had fired them at my brother, one earlier at the goats to scare them. Then I caught up and took the rifle from him. He shot him from two meters away, almost at point-blank range. My brother went to leave and told him to drop it. And he turned his back on him,” he told the magazine. “Patris” Andreas Menounos.

The testimony of the wife of the perpetrator’s brother is also characteristic, who emphasized: “My brother-in-law didn’t want the goats here. People came to collect them, they argued and what happened happened. The victim parked his car, went to find the perpetrator and said to him “okay what happened, the goats are gone, we will pay for the damage, every time you find something. The victim had rented the property for two to three years, but last year he took it back.”
