  • “Eldorado: Everything the Nazis Hated” by Benjamin Cantu: Premieres Wednesday 06/28 on NETFLIX

German-produced historical documentary premiering this Wednesday on Netflix. In 1920s Berlin, Eldorado is the stuff of legend – a decadent and hedonistic nightclub where gays and trans people dance alongside the rich and powerful. It is against this background that the heroes of this extraordinary story meet, who are part of the first LGBT movement in history. This film depicts for the first time how their emerging identity was intertwined with the Nazis’ perverse relationship with homosexuality in their own ranks. It combines biographical stories, archival material and the voices of renowned historians, the last generation of witnesses and family members with accurate, state-of-the-art re-enactments.

Dramatic romantic film that was Brazil’s bid for the 2022 Oscars. Forty-year-old Daniel is suspended by the police pending an internal investigation into unlawful violence. When Sarah, his online romantic partner, stops responding to his messages, he decides to look for her, which proves futile. He walks around with Sarah’s photo in hand, but no one seems to recognize the woman. Until a man appears and declares that he will put him in touch with her, under very specific conditions.
