‘I felt horny and hit on’, says Bruna Linzmeyer about first girlfriend

Bruna Linzmeyer, 30, publicly came out as a lesbian in 2016 and has since spoken openly about her sexuality. This Tuesday (4), the actress told how she discovered her sexual orientation. “One day, I felt horny for a woman and I hit on her. She understood, it was very clear. We hooked up, had sex, and she was my first girlfriend. After I started dating, I understood that, looking back, I already I was a lesbian for much longer,” she said when recalling her relationship with filmmaker Kity Féo.

Linzmeyer reported that he had already had experiences with other women, but he did not remember. “I started looking at some photos from when we had cyber-shot, in the 2000s, and I found several photos kissing a friend of mine. I was 13, 14 years old, and I didn’t even remember that. It was internal chaos. I cried, I got emotional, I freaked out , but it was very important”, he described during his participation in the podcast Quem Pode, Pod.

The actress, who left Globo at the beginning of this year after 12 years at home, also acknowledged to the presenters Fernanda Paes Leme and Giovanna Ewbank the time lost by not having recognized herself as a lesbian earlier: “How many things could u have lived with that girlfriend if I knew?… I think it’s not just her [a amiga] could have been my girlfriend as it was, after all, we kissed”.

Bruna also explained the reason that made her “erase” the kisses given to her friend from her memory. “Even at that time, I didn’t see that relationship as loving. This is called compulsory heterosexuality. We are created to be straight. Nobody comes out of the closet saying they are straight. We see it in soap operas, on the streets… I was straight for a long time because I didn’t have the possibility to choose something else, experience my body in a different way and perceive myself in a different way”, he concluded.
