Popular singer Jeniffer Lopez confused her fans with a post she uploaded on Instagram about her relationship with alcohol.

In an extensive video, the 53-year-old artist defended herself against the critics who had “put” her in the spotlight recently.

Many had criticized her decision to launch a cocktail under her own name, Delola, even though she had stated many times in public that she does not drink alcohol. With a bright smile and aesthetic bliss, she addressed her 248 million followers.

In fact, she herself stated in detail, “Well, I’m on my way to go get some Delola. We host people on the weekend and I understand we don’t have any. I thought we would have, but we haven’t. So I’ll go to the store and get some, hopefully they have it there. I am very excited, I love holiday weekends, I love spending time with family and friends and drinking some cocktails. I know a lot of people were like, “Oh, he doesn’t even drink, what’s he doing with a cocktail?” And to tell you the truth, that was true for a long time, I didn’t drink. A few years ago, as you’ll see from many photos of me out and about over the last 10, maybe 15 years, I’ve been drinking the occasional cocktail. I enjoy the occasional cocktail. I drink responsibly, I don’t drink to get drunk. I drink to be social and have a good time and relax a bit, but always responsibly. I have to tell you, I tried a lot of different things, cocktails, I loved White Russians at one point, I loved rosé, but I never found something that I really loved, and like everything else in my life, I created it myself».

However, many of her fans criticized her choice to speak openly about the issue of alcohol since Ben Affleck has in the past fought a huge battle to overcome his alcoholism.

One of her fans commented, “So uncomfortable talking about responsible drinking without commenting on the fact that her husband suffered from alcoholism for years».

While another wrote, “I am confused that she is talking about alcohol and cocktails when her husband is an alcoholic… who is supposedly in recovery? It doesn’t make any sense and I find it very hard to understand” Another follower commented: “Hmmm I’m confused by this video… and how does this help Ben?“, while someone wondered: “Why not respect your husband’s sobriety?».

Actor Ben Affleck has gone through periods of alcohol rehab and has publicly expressed his problems. In 2001 he underwent addiction treatment and remained sober for about two years. Afterwards, he refused to talk openly about the problem and referred to a period where he consumed alcohol with relative regularity. The actor suffered a relapse in 2017 and 2018.
