With an original project, a “attempt at satirical drama» as its author characterizes it, returns on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July 2023 at 21:30 pm. at the garden theater “Nikos Kazantzakis” in Heraklion, the Theater Group of the Bar Association of Heraklion, staging the satirical drama “TALOS”, a play by the Heraklion lawyer Michalis Sfakianakis, directed by Sofia Dermitzakis.

The work is written in the Cretan dialect and ambition is to add another important chapter to the long tradition of the Theater Group of the Bar Association of Heraklion, in the artistic events of the city.

During the press conference, the President of the Bar Association of Heraklion, Nikos Logothetis, thanked the performers of the show, stating that “this year’s venture of our theater group fills us with pride and certainty that the tradition of the contribution of the Bar Association of Heraklion to the cultural life of our country, will continue to maintain, as it did this summer, the high-quality features that distinguish it”.

The author of the play “At least” lawyer Michalis Sfakianakis thanked the Bar Association for the trust it showed in him, at the same time thanking the director Sofia Dermitzakis.

We were not unrelated before Sofia Dermitzakis, as there was a fellow point of reference for the theatricals of the Heraklion Bar Association, the beloved Giorgos Markopoulos who passed away. Sophia not only deservedly continued his work, but I believe that she advanced it many steps, made it more beautiful, more modern, with a newer look. I’m sure that George, if he sees us from somewhere, will be proud of the work we have to present”, said the writer-lawyer Michalis Sfakianakis, while Sofia Dermitzakis emphasized, among other things, that “the Theater team of the Bar Association has a huge career in city ​​of Heraklion and I wouldn’t say at all that he leaves only a small stone in the culture, since I think that what he leaves is a very important part of the cultural heritage of our city».

The music for the performance was composed by Dionysis Papamitsos, while the choreography is by Vaso Niakaki.
