The multi-awarded Greek creator George Lanthimosspoke to Empire Magazine, about his third collaboration with the actress Emma Stone (Emma Stone) and her special role in his highly anticipated film “Poor Things”.

Based on novel by the Scotsman Alistair Gray (Alistair Gray) who released the 1992, the film tells the story of a young pregnant woman in late 19th century Glasgow who he kills himself to escape her violent husband.

An eccentric but genius scientist, Godwin Baxter brings her back to life by giving her however, the mind of her unborn child.

“In creating this creature everything was done by instinctit’s unlike anything you’ve seen,” the famed director told Empire.

“Sometimes Emma would say to me, ‘I don’t know what the hell I’m doing – is it any good?’ and other times I didn’t know what to do either.

We were trying different things. To be honest, I was surprised with Emma,” he added.

“Later, when I was editing the film, I would text her and say, ‘I don’t know how you did that. It’s incredible,” he noted.

For the beloved protagonist, it was a highly collective effort. “Imagine if I was alone! That would be a disaster,” says Stone, emphasizing that “we were together all the time. And I could always count on him.”

It is noted that the actress also collaborates in the next film of the Greek director “And” whose shooting has been completed.

“I was with people I love and trust and I felt like I could make mistakes and experiment,” the actress said of “Poor Things,” adding that “the freedom and the fact that I felt comfortable…that’s what I love about working together me and Giorgos”.

The film also stars Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo, Jerrod Carmichael and Ramy Youssef.

“Poor Things” written by Tony McNamara (Tony McNamara) is expected to premiere in theaters on September 8 and then on Disney Plus.
