With the testimony of his pediatrician “Aglaia Kyriakou” who examined Georgina two days before the child ended in opposition, on January 29, 2022, the trial of Roula Pispirigou in the Joint Jury continued.

The pediatrician of the First Pediatric Clinic of the Children’s Hospital Konstantina Patounis testified to the court that the first-born daughter of the accused had a good clinical picture, on January 27 and 28 when she was examined with her colleagues. She even mentioned that when she and her colleagues left the Hospital on Friday, January 28, “none of us expected that this child would be led to death.”

The doctor testified that the good image of the child allowed Georgina to be fed and referred to the patient’s episodes on the eve of her death, which I had successfully treated.

“We arrive on Friday and that’s when the mother notified us about the first episode. He coolly told us “come”. The child had low satiety, tachycardia, the head was turned to the left, the pupils were dim. We administered oxygen. With the possibility of convulsions, we also administered treatment. The episode lasted three minutes. We left the ward, continued and at 11:25 mom told us again that something happened. It was a similar episode, with a shorter duration of 1.5 minutes. In the third episode I was not present, I was informed by colleagues”, said Mrs. Patouni.

Prosecutor: How was notification made by the mother?

Witness: He would calmly come to the door of the room and say “come make an episode”. We were in the corridor and visited wards.

The doctor answering a question about the reason for the suspension in a case similar to that of Georgina, he said that “children with such an image can, for example, suffer from a severe respiratory infection and end up In this case we had a hemodynamically stable child with stable oxygen and pulses. When we left the hospital on Friday none of us expected this child to be led to death.”

During the examination of the defense witness, the video she had taken was brought to her attention Roula Pispirigou and recorded the monitor while an episode of Georgina was in progress, before being transferred to Paedon in Athens.

The defendant’s side, citing the testimony of another doctor who assessed the videotaped episode as serious, accused Ms. Patouni of “trying to reduce the seriousness of Georgina’s episodes.”

The doctor did not want to evaluate the child’s condition: “I was not present during the episodes. I can’t medically evaluate something where I wasn’t present,” he said, while in the following questions from the defense he added: “Are you asking me if my colleagues in Patras made a mistake? This is not my role!”.
