Favorite actor Michael J. Fox can add another Emmy to its collection as the documentary “Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie” is among the nominations for this year’s awards. The Apple TV+ production earned seven nominations, more than any other non-fiction film or series.
“Still” follows Michael J. Fox, the legendary actor of ‘Back to the Future’ and ‘Teen Wolf’, as he tells his life story in the first person while highlighting his optimistic attitude towards Parkinson’s disease.

“It’s great, mostly because people are starting to see who Michael J really is. Fox,” said award-winning director Davis Guggenheim. “He was so open in the film, so emotional, free, honest and so real. It’s a big risk for someone starring in a documentary. People embraced him. I’m so happy and mostly for him,” she added to Deadline: Hollywood.
He also expressed how excited he is to share Emmy nominations with so many of his ‘Still’ co-stars.

“The film was a creative collaboration, especially with me and editor Michael Harte,” noted the director. “He gave so much to this film. Every article talks about how groundbreaking the editing was. I’m glad it’s being recognized. And John Powell’s score, which is not a classic documentary score…and the whole team, the producers, the sound engineers, it’s really a complete collaborative effort,” he said.
