About 12 years after the release of the movie Fantastic Mr. Fox, based on Roald Dahl’s book of the same name, Wes Anderson prepares to bring another story of his favorite author to the big screen. This time it’s the Wonderful Story by Henry Sugar, a collection of short stories first published in 1977.

However, one can not yet say for sure whether the script created by Wes Anderson will include all of these stories or a selection of them. The only sure thing is that we will see the story of the book title on the big screen. Henry Sugar’s Wonderful Story focuses on a very rich gentleman who one day steals a valuable book. By studying it carefully and following step by step the meditation it suggests, he has an ultimate goal. He knows that this book can make him have a penetrating look at things and predict the future. When he finally achieves his goal, he gets involved in a lot of adventures being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The book also contains some autobiographical stories by Roald Dahl
In one it tells how he ended up becoming a writer, while in the other he tells his experience from World War II where he participated as a fighter pilot. There is currently no more information on the transfer of stories, however we know much of the cast that we will see on our screens. Specifically, the project will star Benedict Cumberbatch, while Dev Patel, Ralph Fiennes and Ben Kingsley will also participate.
The film will be part of Netflix’s overall effort to bring all of Roald Dahl’s stories to the big and small screens, having acquired the rights to the stories last year. A TV adaptation of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ is already in the works, as well as a musical based on the story of Matilda.
