The Grammy-nominated English singer-songwriter of Florence & the Machine Florence Welch revealed in a post on social media the reason she canceled the band’s last concerts as she underwent major surgery which “saved her life”.

“I am very sorry that I had to cancel my last concerts. My legs are fine. I had to have emergency surgery which I still don’t feel strong enough to talk about but it saved my life“, the acclaimed singer wrote on Instagram while sharing that she will return to the stage on September 1st.

“I’ll be back on stage to close the ‘Dance Fever’ tour with concerts in Lisbon and Malaga, (maybe I won’t dance as much but you can do it for me).”

“Needless to say, I wish the song lyrics weren’t so accurate in their predictions. But creativity is a way of copying and myths a way of making sense. And the dark tale of “Dance Fever,” with all its strange prophecies, will provide me with much-needed strength and catharsis right now,” Wells concluded.
