Rowland explained that the idea for a solo album came up in 2019, with the title track being the first to be demoed, but was then shelved for several months while he was on tour with Harry Styles.

We were close to the end of the creation of this album and this particular song was in front of me,” the singer said in a press release. “It wasn’t part of the plan because of the way it was recorded – I never imagined it with the rest of the songs. But after some re-approaching and recording it all, this song started to take on meaning again. I guess you could say this is a song about Sarah[Jones, Stiles’ drummer and Rowland’s wife]».

Rowland met Styles in 2016 when he was working at a pizzeria. He was given the opportunity to try his hand at composing with the former One Direction member on his first solo album in 2017.

Harris Styles and Mitch Rowland’s collaboration led to the creation of many of the pop singer’s hits, including ‘Watermelon Sugar’ and the Grammy-winning ‘Harry’s House’ LP.
