Faustão returned home. The news was given early this Saturday afternoon (23) by the hospital where he was admitted once again, ten days after being discharged from a heart transplant.
“Patient Fausto Silva was discharged from Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein this Saturday, September 23rd, and will continue under medical guidance in this phase of rehabilitation after heart transplant”, says the official statement.
The presenter spent three days hospitalized and, according to Einstein’s previous bulletin, he had entered the unit to undergo post-heart transplant tests. “This is a routine protocol that assesses the functioning of the heart and whether there are signs of rejection,” stated the bulletin.
Initially, Faustão was admitted to the hospital on August 5th for treatment of heart failure and dialysis. Fifteen days later, the need for a heart transplant was diagnosed.
On the 27th of the same month, he received the transplant and was discharged 13 days after the surgery. Faustão was recovering at home from the procedure. At the time, the bulletin released by the medical team accompanying the presenter said that he would continue “under the necessary medical and nutritional guidelines for rehabilitation after heart transplantation”.
