Ailton Graça spared no effort to be the protagonist of ‘Mussum, O Filmis’, a production that debuted this Thursday (2) on the national circuit, and tells the story of comedian Antônio Carlos Bernardes Gomes, known as Mussum.
The actor said he underwent some aesthetic procedures to look more like the character in the film directed by Silvio Guidane. Graça underwent facial harmonization, Botox application and even hair implants.
“I went for harmonization, botox, because I have small eyes. (…) I’m in favor of looking for the character through characterization”, explained the actor during his appearance on Globo’s Encontro program. He also highlighted having given hair to the presenters Tati Machado and Valéria Almeida of the attraction “Mussum had more hair than me. I thought it was necessary”, he said about one of the four members of “Os Trapalhões”.
Ailton also spoke about the importance of Mussum in addressing structural racism. “Humor is a very powerful tool for teaching, for putting this very important topic into context”, explained the actor, who concluded. “This film is the realization of a life project. It is the first ‘pretagonist’ that I have done, and, within my history as an artist. I have always wanted to do this work, whether in the theater or anywhere.”
