The Lighthouse Sessions of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) continue in February. This is an original series of musical meetings that take place thanks to the donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (ISN) and combine the interview with the concert and the jazz with the Greek song, creating a special artistic imprint.
Composer and drummer Alexandros Drakos Ktistakis talks to his guests about their life and musical journey, while inviting them to a musical dialogue, open to improvisation and experimentation, accompanied by a jazz trio and a string quartet.
On Sunday, February 13, at 21:00, Ktistakis’s guest at the Lighthouse of the SNFCC is Orpheas Peridis. The important Greek songwriter meets the flexible music ensemble of Ktistakis and they experiment with jazz and classical sound. Stations-tracks of the 90’s and moments from the later course of Orpheus Peridis are performed with special orchestrations, waiting for the upcoming staff of the album.
A singer who combined folk and art song with the quests, sounds and endoscopic trends of his generation, Orpheas Peridis appeared in the discography in 1990, participating with three of his own songs in the album “Synerga” by Nikos Papazoglou. In 1993, his first solo album entitled “Ah My Imaginary Soul” was a great success and established him. Three years later, “Good Day If You Wake Up” follows. In the coming years, he will collaborate closely with artists such as Manolis Rasoulis, Petros Vagiopoulos and Lizeta Kalimeri, while from 2020 he collaborates on stage with the guitar virtuoso Manolis Androulidakis. This year, his second album for children is expected to be released.
The concert will be held in the presence of the public but will also be broadcast live on the platforms of the SNFCC: its website (www.snfcc.org), its Facebook page and its YouTube channel. Tickets: 10 euros (general admission), 5 euros (reduced). Advance ticket sales online at Ticket Services’s website or by phone at 210 7234567.
