The legendary tennis player has become a fashion icon, according to the Council of Fashion Designers of America
After making history on the courts, both for her performance and her looks – legendary tennis player Serena Williams earned yet another title: fashion icon!
The 42-year-old Williams was (finally) declared a fashion icon by the Council of Fashion Designers of Americain a glittering ceremony at the American Museum of Natural History.

The iconic tennis player arrived at CFDA Fashion Awards dressed in a stunning black gown and wearing her best smile, to receive her honour.
“When I played, I designed denim skirts and wore purple tutus and leotards and put beads in my hair and braids,” Williams said of her history-making appearances on the tennis courts. “It was really a fun time for me.”
The 23-time Grand Slam champion is the first female athlete to win the fashion icon title – the title has previously been awarded to pop stars Beyoncé, Zendaya and Rihanna.
