Iconic outfits from Prince’s ultra-luxurious wardrobe fans will have the opportunity to claim through an auction by RR Auction of Boston.

The collection, which includes more than 200 pieces, was gathered by a French collectorh, who originally wanted to create a museum in honor of the pop music legend, the auction house reports. The collector had turned to his associates to collect his favorite clothes and objects believing that the artist who passed away in 2016, was not only a musical virtuoso but also a fashion icon.

One of the highlights of the auction is the white ruffled shirt worn by Prince during his performance of “Purple Rain” at the 1985 American Music Awards.

Among those to be auctioned is one of the outfits she wore in the 1986 film, “Under the Cherry Moon”, in which he made his directorial debut, a pair of blue ankle boots from the ‘Act I Tour’, a blue Cloud electronic guitar and stunning jewellery. Also on display will be original photos, master tapes from hit albums and official documents related to his films and music videos.

Earlier this year, Prince’s home state of Minnesota named a stretch of highway that runs past his Paisley Park mansion after him. According to the AP the ink with which the governor signed the decision was purple.
