Protagonist of one of the biggest classics of the 1990s, “Home Alone”, Maculay Culkin, 43, won a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, this Friday (1). Accompanied by his family, the actor was moved by the tribute and also remembered some behind-the-scenes episodes of director Chris Columbus’ film. What he didn’t expect was the presence of actress Catherine O’Hara, 69, who played Kevin McCallister’s mother at the celebration.
Macaulay cried at Catherine’s speech for the Hollywood honor. “‘Home Alone’ was, is and always will be a global sensation. The reason families around the world can’t let a year go by without watching and loving ‘Home Alone’ together is Macaulay Culkin,” began the actress .
Catherine stressed that the film had everything to be successful, thanks to the good script and a competent team, but praised Macaulay’s performance. “You so deserve your star on the sidewalk in Hollywood. Thank you for including me – your fake mother who left you home alone not once, but twice – to share in this happy occasion. I’m so proud of you,” she concluded. They worked together also in the second ‘Forgot Me’, released in 1992.
Fans of the actor commented on the tribute on the networks and were moved by the reunion in Los Angeles, United States. “My God, what a beautiful thing. I cried”, wrote one internet user. “Who doesn’t remember the reunion scene between the two? This film is part of my childhood”, commented the second and the third even joked: “She didn’t forget it and made a point of going to the event”.
