Guitarist Roberto de Carvalho, widower of Rita Lee, said he will be eternally grateful to Marisa Monte after participating in the singer’s show, this Saturday (2), at the Primavera Sound festival.
“Small and big miracles happened tonight,” he said.
During the show, Marisa called Roberto to the stage to pay tribute to Rita, who died in May this year. She sang, with the musician on guitar, “Doce Vampiro” and “Mania Você”, two songs that the rocker wrote for her husband and released in the 1970s.
Carvalho also played “Já Sei Namorar”, a hit by the Tribalistas, with Marisa’s band.
“Exciting”, commented João Lee, one of the couple’s three children. Beto Lee, another son, recorded the moment of his father’s entry.
Away from the stage, Roberto often expresses his pain over the death of Rita, with whom he shared a love story lasting almost five decades.
“My love will be eternal. The pain of your presence is enormous and will remain so until we meet again, whatever the dimension,” he wrote on Instagram three weeks ago.
At this Saturday’s show, he looked at the sky and sent kisses after one of the songs.
“Romeo and Juliet is for the weak. The goal is to be Rita and Roberto”, reacted a fan.
Marisa also commented on the partnership of the night. “What a thrill to share the stage with Roberto de Carvalho and sing for Rita Lee. Thank you to the eternal sweet vampire for this moment that I will never forget. Rita forever”, she said.
