Suzana Pires had to radically change her look to play an oncology patient in “Cancer with Virgo Ascendant‘, film in which he will star opposite Marieta Severo. “If the delivery isn’t complete, don’t even call me!”, she wrote on Instagram this Tuesday (5).
In the film, Clara (Suzana Pires) exposes her insecurities in the fight against breast cancer, since the day she receives the diagnosis. Good-natured, she is a mathematics teacher and is successful as an educational influencer on her internet channel. The dramatic comedy is based on the story of the film’s producer, Clélia Bessa, who during the treatment that cured her of breast cancer in 2008 launched the blog “I’m with Cancer, and Then?”.
Suzana recorded the scene this week in which Clara has her head shaved by her mother. The actress and screenwriter says that, since she joined the project, she was sure that she would shave her head for real. “I didn’t have a second of hesitation, on the contrary. I had a complete detachment of vanity. It was an absolute surrender to the character”, she says.
Marieta Severo, who adopted longer hair extensions for the production, plays Leda, Clara’s mother, a modern and esoteric woman, happy with life, self-confident, who loves a samba circle and a beer.
The cast also includes Fabiana Karla, Carla Cristina Cardoso, Ângelo Paes Leme, Heitor Martinez, Nathália Costa and Júlia Konrad. Directed by Rosane Svartman, from “Vai na Fé”. The film is scheduled for release in 2024.
