The film is a modern adaptation of the Frankenstein legend, based on Alistair Gray’s award-winning book of the same title, released in 1992, and follows Bella, a beautiful young woman who kills herself to escape her abusive husband. She is brought back to life by an eccentric but genius scientist, Godwin Baxter, who, however, gives her the mind of a baby. Thirsty to know the world, she sets off with Duncan Wedderburn, a skilled and morally challenged lawyer, on a continent-spanning adventure.”
The adaptation is signed by the playwright and close collaborator of the Greek creator, Tony McNamara. Rounding out the cast are, among others, Ramu Youssef, Jerrod Carmichael and Christopher Abbott.
