How to lose 270 calories every day without doing anything

You are trying to lose calories and you do not succeed? Here is a tip, which has an immediate effect and requires the least possible effort. Get a little more sleep!

According to research published in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine, an extra two hours of sleep can significantly benefit us, leading to an additional loss of 270 calories on average.

It all started with a randomized experiment in which overweight adults, who usually slept less than 6.5 hours each day, tried to sleep two hours more (ie 8.5 hours) for the next 15 days.

After the end of this period, many of the participants were found to have managed to reduce their daily calorie intake by 270, adopting a healthier lifestyle.

In fact, there have been cases of people who have reduced their calorie intake by 500 per day.

“It’s almost like a ‘game changer’ for weight loss,” said Dr. Esra Tasali, director of the Sleep Research Center at the University of Chicago.

The scientists, in fact, went a step further, presenting their findings in the future. Thus, they found that consuming 270 fewer calories per day translates into a weight loss of 11.7 kg over three years.

And all you need to do is get two more hours of sleep.

According to analysts, one of the reasons for this noticeable weight loss is the direct connection of sleep deprivation with two key hormones, which control the feeling of hunger: ghrelin and leptin.

Ghrelin, which increases the feeling of hunger, has been found to be enhanced in conditions of lack of sleep. Leptin, on the other hand, which is associated with a feeling of satiety, also tends to decrease during periods of lack of sleep.
